Jungle, a new literary movement known as
naturalism was appearing in America. Emanating
from France, its primary characteristics were
outlined by Vernon L Parrington in The Beginnings
of Critical Realism in America. Using
Parringtons outline below, indicate in the
spaces following each item how far you believe
Sinclairs The Jungle fits the definition of
naturalism.
