RevelationThe Prophetic BlessingRev. 11-8
  • 1 This is a revelation from Jesus Christ, which
God gave him to show his servants the events that
must soon take place. He sent an angel to present
this revelation to his servant John,2 who
faithfully reported everything he saw. This is
his report of the word of God and the testimony
of Jesus Christ.3 God blesses the one who reads
the words of this prophecy to the church, and he
blesses all who listen to its message and obey
what it says, for the time is near.4 This letter
is from John to the seven churches in the
province of Asia. Grace and peace to you from the
one who is, who always was, and who is still to
come from the sevenfold Spirit before his
throne5 and from Jesus Christ. He is the
faithful witness to these things, the first to
rise from the dead, and the ruler of all the
kings of the world. All glory to him who loves us
and has freed us from our sins by shedding his
blood for us.6 He has made us a Kingdom of
priests for God his Father. All glory and power
to him forever and ever! Amen. 7 Look! He comes
with the clouds of heaven. And everyone will see
him even those who pierced him. And all the
nations of the world will mourn for him. Yes!
Amen! 8 I am the Alpha and the Omegathe
beginning and the end, says the Lord God. I am
the one who is, who always was, and who is still
    to comethe Almighty One.

RevelationThe Prophetic Blessing
  • Revelation is an apocalyptic book meaning
uncovered, unveiled or revealing in style.
  • This style is a familiar style in ancient lit
    usually featured spectacular imagery written
under the name of an ancient hero i.e. Hercules
  • Difference instead of an ancient hero, we have
John enslave to an island evil is denounced
rather than just accepted as a reality people
are held to a high holy standard he offers
    through the message given hope.
  • John was not a psychic predicting the future he
was a prophet, a seer describing what God had
    shown him
  • Revelation 11-8 UNPACKED!

RevelationThe Prophetic Blessing
  • Isaiah 616-9 You will be called priests of the
Lord, ministers of our God. You will feed on the
treasures of the nations and boast in their
riches. Instead of shame and dishonor, you will
enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a
double portion of prosperity in your land, and
everlasting joy will be yours. For I, the Lord,
love justice. I hate robbery and wrongdoing. I
will faithfully reward my people for their
suffering and make an everlasting covenant with
them. Their descendants will be recognized and
honored among the nations. Everyone will realize
that they are a people the Lord has blessed.

13
RevelationThe Prophetic Blessing
  • Many hesitate to witness about their faith in
    Christ
  • We qualify as witnesses because of what HE did
for us, not because of what we do for Him or in
    Him!
  • Faithful Witness!
