Homework Policy
Homework is a key part of student success. It is
an excellent way to reinforce skills and concepts
taught in the classroom.
  • Read for a minimum 20 minutes daily
  • Spelling/Vocabulary Packet or Choice Board
  • Practice First in Math
  • Other assigned homework assignments / projects
    varying by classroom
  • Please sign agenda nightly

Third Grade Discipline Plan
  • Safe
  • Organize
  • Accountable
  • Respectful
  • When positive behaviors are noticed throughout
    the building, faculty and staff will give the
    students SOAR card a hole punch. Students
    meeting the required number of punches at the end
    of the week will be rewarded with a treat.

Routines and rituals will be taught and followed
daily to build a positive learning environment.
However, if students do not follow the classroom
rules, the following steps will be taken.     1.
Verbal Warning 2. Conference with teacher 3.
Time out in the classroom 4. Time out in another
classroom 5. Call home/Parent conference 6.
Infinite Campus behavior referral
  • Students MUST be in class by 745 to be marked
  • Students arriving after 745 must be brought into
    the front office for check in by parent/guardian.
  • The breakfast line stops serving breakfast at
    740 each morning.

Forms of Communication
  • Open communication between home and school is
    extremely vital in your childs success! ?
  • Email / Phone call
  • Written notes in your childs agenda or daily
  • Class Website
  • Schedule a conference when needed
  • Remind 101

Infinite Campus
  • Parents can view grades online via Parent Portal
    on Infinite Campus.
  • If you havent already done so, please follow
    directions under Parent Portal on our school
    website to sign up. If you have trouble, please
    contact the front office to obtain login
    information to Parent Portal.

  • 4s exceeding
  • 3s meeting
  • 2s progressing
  • 1s emerging
  • 0s critical need
  • Only the standards are listed on the report card.
    For example
  • Describes cultural and geographical systems of
    historical Americans
  • Your child may score a 3 for this standard after
    mastering 1 historical figure (i.e. Paul Revere),
    but may score lower or higher under this standard
    for a different historical figure (i.e. Susan

FP and IKAN/GloSS Expectations
  • Reading and math benchmark assessments given 3
    times a year
  • FP (reading)
  • Students are expected to be at a level P by the
    end of third grade.
  • IKAN/GloSS (math)
  • Students are expected to be at a Stage 5/6 by the
    end of third grade.
  • The level/stage your child is starting third
    grade will be shared with you during your first
    parent/teacher conference
