OIG Audit of New DBEs
  • IN GENERAL
  • For FY 13 through 15, DOT OIG shall submit to
    Congress a report on the number of new small
    business concerns owned and controlled by
    socially and economically disadvantaged
    individuals, including those owned by veterans

  • THE REPORT SHALL INCLUDE
  • List of the top 25 and bottom 25 large and medium
    hub airports
  • Results of an assessment on the reasons why the
    top airports have been successful and
  • Recommendations on methods for other airports to
    achieve results similar to those of the top
    airports.

  • Orders and payment for necessary supplies made by
    individuals not employed by minority-owned
    business

  • Automate all the elements
    of the DBE and ACDBE programs.
  • Components accessible to DBEs, FAA staff, and
    soon airport DBELOs.
  • Currently includes airport record, goals,
    compliance reviews, complaints, document upload
    capabilities and unique report generation.

  • Next phase - reporting mechanism for the annual
    accomplishment reports accessible to airports,
    providing a new and improved DOORS.
  • Future phase - creation of key documents from
    templates and create automatic system flags and
    alerts.
