    common ones are
  • 1 in. (inch) 2.54 cm (centimeters)
  • 1 ft (foot) 0.3048 m (meters)
  • 1 mile 1.61 km (kilometers)
  • 1 oz (ounce) 28.35 g (grams)
  • 1 lb (pound) 454 g (grams)
  • 1 qt (quart) 0.479 L (liters)

    the metric system if there is no direct
    conversion factor
  • Examples
