• The award is administered by the Association for
• Library Service to Children, a division of the
• American Library Association.
• The award is given every two years. Winners
• receive the award at the annual American
• Library Association conference in June.
• The author and illustrators work must be
• published in the United States.

substantial contribution to childrens literacy
