3How is your life, and our church, impacting our
community and world with the message of Jesus
Christ?
4The Shift from Us to Them A Different Vantage
Point
5Matthew 935-38
Jesus went through all the towns and villages,
teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good
news of the kingdom and healing every disease and
sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had
compassion on them, because they were harassed
and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
6Matthew 935-38 (Cont.)
Then he said to his disciples, The harvest is
plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord
of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers
into his harvest field.
7How can we get our attention and focus off of
ourselves and on those who are still outside of
Gods family?
8Seismic Shift Suggestions
- Forming an Impact List
- Sensitivity in the church
- Remember that eternity is at stake
9The Shift from One Size Fits All to Your
Outreach Style A Natural Approach
101 Peter 315
But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord.
Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone
who asks you to give the reason for the hope that
you have. But do this with gentleness and
respect.
11Why cant we all do outreach the same way? How
has God uniquely wired you and shaped you for his
work of outreach into the world?
12Seismic Shift Suggestions
- Develop friendships outside of the church and the
faith - Call or write to someone who has impacted your
life - Think ahead and map out parts of your journey
- Tell the story of your journey to Jesus
13The Shift from Closing the Deal to Making a
Journey Learning Love and Patience
141 Corinthians 35-9
What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul?
Only servants, through whom you came to
believeas the Lord has assigned to each his
task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it,
but God made it grow. So neither he who plants
nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who
makes things grow. The man who plants and the man
who waters have one purpose, and each will be
rewarded according to his own labor. For we are
Gods fellow workers you are Gods field, Gods
building.
15Who is one person God has placed in your life
that you can walk with as they learn about Jesus?
What can you do to help them along on their
journey?
