  • Neo-Classicism Since ancient Greece and Rome
    were the birthplaces of Democracy and
    Republicanism, the new American Republic felt
    that its poetry, art and architecture should
    reflect a mixture of classical styles and
    themes with a new subject American virtue and
    liberty.
