Funding Professionalism..
"... there has been widespread support in FE for
us to introduce requirements for teachers to
undertake continuing professional development and
become professionally registered with the
Institute for Learning. I am, therefore, pleased
to announce today that this Government will meet
the full costs of the professional registration
with the IfL. Such an investment supports our
aim of professionalising the FE workforce, while
registration will ensure that teachers are
qualified and complete at least 30 hours of
continuing professional development per
year. Bill Rammell MP Minister of State for
Lifelong Learning, Further and Higher
Education 1st June 2007
