What is Grade 8 Science

• We have two major focuses
• Physical Science chemistry, machines, motion
  and energy
• Review of the last 4 years.

Intermediate Assessment

• In Science students take the Intermediate
  Assessment at the end of 8th grade. It covers
  everything the students have learned since the
  beginning of 5th grade!!!!
• We will be giving our final at the end of quarter
  3 so we can spend enough time reviewing to
  prepare students for the exams

• Exploring ideas and creating labs
• Group activities
• Research and book work
• Computer labs and programs

The journal this year is key to everything we do
we will be connecting back to it with each
activity. The first grade will be done by you
and your student together!!

Grades are available to you on the parent portal

Extra help/Make up work

• Extra help is available as needed. I am
  available most days at lunch and by appointment
  before and after school.

Odds and Ends

• We will be using an interactive journal this year
  to connect all our thoughts please check it out
  every once in a while and look at what your child
  is doing.
• If students have band lessons or other school
  activities they must make arrangements
  beforehand.
• If students are absent they must come to get work
  upon their return.
