the words are spoken.

What is Real-Time Captioning?

• Real-time captions are white letters with a black
  background
• Typically scroll up to 3 lines and the top
• line of the 3 lines disappears as a new
  bottom
• line is added
• Live captioning is provided at time of program
  origination
• In 1982, the National Captioning Institute (NCI)
  developed real-time captioning services to give
  captioned TV viewers access to live programming
