  • The Angels were created perfectly
  • There was no sin at the end of Creation on the
    7th day
  • The Serpent was the most beautiful of all the

Lucifer was created
  • Ezekiel 2811-19
  • Isaiah 1412-15
  • Lucifer must have been self-deceived that God was
    also a created being.

It is always dangerous to alter God's Word
  • You shall not add to the word that I command you,
    nor take from it, that you may keep the
    commandments of the Lord your God that I command
    you. Deuteronomy 42 ESV
  • . . . if anyone adds to them, God will add to him
    the plagues described in this book, and if anyone
    takes away from the words of the book of this
    prophecy, God will take away his share in the
    tree of life and in the holy city, which are

Gave them a half truth 35
  • Their eyes were opened
  • They would not become as gods
  • Eve was deceived-Should have asked her husband

First human sin 36-13
  • Man was created as a free moral agent
  • Choices have consequences
  • Adam and Eve did sin

Eve's temptation
  • Good for food
  • Pleasant to the eyes
  • Desired to make wise

Adam was not deceived
  • Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived
    and became a transgressor. 1 Timothy 214 ESV
  • Shame instead of Fame, Embarrassment instead of
  • Became aware of their nakedness

Sweet fellowship with God was cut off.
  • Shame also brought hope of salvation
  • No shame or guilt - No felt need for salvation
  • Acutely conscious of being naked before God

Adam's lack of confession
  • When confronted, he blamed Eve
  • Eve blamed the serpent
  • Neither was willing to acknowledge personal guilt
  • Adam by implication blamed God

  • Instead of praising God for His Goodness, he
    blamed Him for his troubles.
  • God's questions were not for information but to
    encourage repentance.
  • Only recourse--Punishment that is both corrective
    and redemptive

  • Pain in conception and childbirth
  • Child birth can be turned into blessing
  • Desire to her husband-dominate
  • Her husband would rule over her

Curse of Adam Gen 317-19
  • Ground, earth is cursed
  • Decay and disintegration.
  • From readily available to yielding reluctantly.

Death became prevalent
  • We suffer from death
  • We struggle because of death (separation)
  • Bacteria and micro organisms are now harmful
    rather than helpful as before

  • Sin is not allowed to go unchecked
  • Death causes sin to be stopped
  • Death is a blessing from God
  • Terrible prison with no death

Curse on Man was four-fold

Jesus Christ has met the curse for us
  • Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by
    becoming a curse for usfor it is written,

  • He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and
    death shall be no more, neither shall there be
    mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the
    former things have passed away. Revelation 214

  • Nakedness is not to be allowed
