Iowa Test of Basic Skills
  • Nationally-Normed Test
  • Tests curriculum items most commonly taught in
    classroom across the nation.
  • Given to all 1st through 8th and 12th grade
    students.
  • Testing window is the first two weeks of October.

  • All includes every student enrolled. Scores
    of special education students are omitted in the
    General Education averages.
  • The space between the blue lines approximate the
    average range.
  • Grade levels scoring within the average range -
    2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th.
  • Grade levels scoring above the average range -
    1st, 8th, and 12th.
  • There are no grade levels scoring below the
    average range.
  • There are very little differences between the
    scores of all students and general education
    students at most grade levels. The greatest
    difference appears in grades 6 and 7.

  • The lowest scores at each grade level except 2nd
    and 3rd were in computation.
  • 3rd grade Problem Solving/Data Interpretation and

  • Mandated by the Kansas State Board of Education
  • Measures achievement toward the Kansas Curricular
    Standards for Mathematics
  • Given to all 4th, 7th, and 10th grade students.
  • Testing window is in the month of March.
  • The 2000 Assessment is baseline data.

    slightly below the state average.
  • USD 244 7th grade students scored slightly above
    the state average.

    knowledge questions than the application
    questions.
  • 7th grade scores are about the same on both types

    three grade levels.
