General Information for SATs
Tests are for English Mathematics
Tests during week beginning 9th May 2011 No
holiday will be authorised from 26th April to
13th May 2011

  • Punctuality.
  • Breakfast.
  • Help the children to be organised.
  • Talk through what they are going to do each day.

How do we ensure your child does their best?
  • There are slight changes to the curriculum
  • A revision programme is completed including
    homework
  • Booster sessions for some targeted children
  • Children do practice the skills needed to
    complete the test papers
  • Tests are taken in the classroom
  • Some children may have an adult to support them,
    either reading the questions or scribing their
    answers and will do this in a separate classroom.

How can you help?
  • Build confidence, learning multiplication tables
    with quick recall, number facts to 20, pairs of
    numbers to 100.
  • Practice in real life situations e.g. helping
    with shopping, estimating totals, converting
    pence to pounds, weighing ingredients for
    cooking, reading scales
  • Working through examples
  • Encouraging the children to use the methods they
    have learnt in school- building on their
    understanding.
