MISSION
  • MISSION Delta Company, 123rd Main Support
    Battalion conducts a day and night live fire MK
    19 Grenade Machine Gun range in BMTA Range 1A NLT
    170900JAN2000 in order to train the battalions
    MK 19 crews.

Safety Briefing Range 1A
  • All personnel have the authority to call a cease
    fire if they see an unsafe act. All soldiers are
    safety officers.
  • Locate and Mark Dud and Misfire Pit.
  • Firing limits are marked with range limit
    markers.
  • Take all commands from the command point.
  • Keep weapons pointed down range at all times.
  • Only the ammo detail is allowed inside the ammo
    point.
  • No smoking except in the smoking area.
  • Everyone will wear ear plugs and flack vests
    during firing.
  • In the case of a run-away gun, keep your weapon
    pointed down range.
  • Always assume your gun is loaded.
  • All weapons will be inspected by the range safety
    officer.
  • Do not attempt to correct severe weapons
    malfunctions.
