Secure Boot Controversy
  • Secure boot is a UEFI-based feature to "prevent
    unauthorized firmware, operating systems, or UEFI
    drivers from running at boot time".
  • Hardware makers who choose the optional Microsoft
    Certification will be required to implement UEFI.
  • The bottom line is that it will require bios
    changes to install a 3rd party OS like Linux on
    any PC that has windows 8 pre-installed with the
    Microsoft certification.
