How to Find the Direct Object
  • A direct object will always be either a noun or a
    pronoun.
  • You might sometimes mix it up with the indirect
    object or the subject.
  • It always follows one of the action verbs in the
    sentence.
  • If you think you know what it is, check to see if
    its in a prepositional phrase.

How to Find a Direct Object Part 2
  • One of the best ways to find the direct object is
    to think of it this way I want (direct object).
    (I) being the subject comes first, then the verb
    (want), then your direct object. Kind of like I
    want ice cream.
