Purpose
  • To determine whether altitude varies directly
with the length of line let out for the balloon
    tether.

3
Method
We found the height using Right Triangle
Trigonometry by measuring angles using a
clinometer. The illustration shows how this
method works. There is a more simple method
involving the tangent of the angles, but we chose
this method in order to explore the law of sines
more thoroughly.

Conclusion
We believe that our experiment was very
successful in what we were trying to attempt. Our
information showed us that the amount of line
released didnt vary directly with the altitude.
Our information compared very well with what our
colleagues collected. It was a difficult task
getting accurate information because of so many
factors that affected our readings, such as wind,
terrain, and communication between stations. We
overcame these difficulties and got the results
we needed.
