Generation of tides and internal waves on NWS
  • Hybrid numerical model
  • BLUElink data assimilated hydrostatic solution,
    horizontal resolution of 10 km, z coordinate,
    driven by atmospheric forcing. Drives ROMS.
  • ROMS hydrostatic solution, adds the tidal
    forcing, fine resolution of 3 km, sigma
    coordinate. Drives SUNTANS.
  • SUNTANS non-hydrostatic solution, unstructured
    fine resolution to 30m horizontally and 1 m
    vertical. Resolves internal wave and fine scale
    dynamics.
