Some Metamorposis Types

• anamorphosis metamorphosis in which the
  immature stages have fewer abdominal segments
  that the adults
• epimorphosis metamorphosis in which all of the
  segments are differentiated in the embryo before
  hatching

• complete development in which there is a pupal
  stage ( holometabolous)
• incomplete (or simple) development in which
  there is no pupal stage

• ametabolous without metamorphosis
  characteristic of primitively wingless insects
  that emerge from the egg in essentially adult
  form except for the size and development of the
  genitalia
• paurometabolous metamorphosis without a pupal
  stage and with terrestrial immatures that closely
  resemble the adult in general body form (
  gradual metamorphosis)
• hemimetabolous metamorphosis without a pupal
  stage, but with aquatic immatures that differ
  significantly in body form from the adult
