Title: Pythagoras

1
Pythagoras
  • Pythagoras was born around the year 569 BC.
  • By Dan Stampone

2
Pythagoras
  • Pythagoras was an odd man and believed that souls
transmigrated between man and animal by
    purification through reincarnation.
  • He taught the princiapal intervals of the musical
    scale.
  • He believed heavenly bodies were devided by
regular intervals according to the laws of
    harmony.

3
Pythagoras
  • Pythagoras was a mathematician and was
    specifically obsessed with triangles and
    specifically right triangles.

4
Pythagorean Theorem
Geometry states that in a right triangle the
square of the length of the hypotenuse equals
the sum of the squares of the length of the
other sides Pythagoras tested thousands of right
triangles and they all had the same results.

5
Pythagoras
  • Pythagoras was a Greek philosopher and
    mathematician
  • He led an ascetic community in Croton, Italy.

6
Pythagoras
  • Pythagoras Showed us that the physical world can
be modeled and represented through pure math.

7
Pythagoras
  • What gave you the idea of the Pythagorean
    Theorem?
  • Why did you believe in reincarnation?
  • Why did you hire a hit man to kill your rival?

8
Pythagoras
  • Lonely- he was by himself most of the day besides
his reincarnation meetings. I did not read
anything about his family or friends.
  • Hard Worker- He studied for hours everyday.
  • Perfectionist- He tested thousands of right
triangles just to make sure his theorem was
    correct.

9
Pythagoras
  • Wake Up and have a nice breakfast
  • Study
  • Go to a reincarnation meeting
  • Study
  • Test Triangles - he tested thousands of triangles
  • Sleep- but not for long he has to wake up early
    and study

10
Pythagoras
  • I must say that the Pythagorean Theorem is his
greatest accomplishment because that is what I
    read about most.
  • We also still use it today so it must be
    important.

11
Pythagoras
I again think that one of his regrets was that he
was always by himself. If he looked at the world
today he would probably want to be with other
people. I do not know because Pythagoras might
have liked being by himself.
12
Pythagoras
There is no trace of Pythagorass work because he
wrote everything in the sand. He died around the
year 475 BC..
