  • Pre-Season Key Dates.
  • 1st training session 23rd June, 7.30pm start.
  • All senior players and colts to be part of
    sessions for the first two weeks of Pre-season.
  • Players Barbeque Saturday 27th June 2009, 1pm
    onwards (Lions 2nd Test). Wives, girlfriends and
    partners welcome.
  • Open club trial 29th August 2009, 3pm Kick off.
    All Senior players and Colts Invited.
  • Conditioned game fixture 1st September 2009,
    7.30pm kick off. Under floodlights at UCFC (Squad
    selected from trial game to play either Braintree
    or Eton Manor 2s).
  • Cup/Possible friendly fixture 5th September
    2009.
  • 1st League fixture 12th September 2009, away Vs.
    Old Cooperians.
  • We will be playing in Essex 1 next season. 22
    League fixtures. New teams in the League are
    Millwall, Old Cooperians (Promoted) and
    Billericay (Relegated from L8).

    Olympic Rower, Final Trialist, Beijing 2008).
  • First Four weeks of Pre-Season Non Contact
    game/defensive play emphasis.
  • Fitness coach will be attending some sessions
    before Tom Webb goes away on Honeymoon.
  • Danny Elmer to oversee sessions while Tom Webb is
    away on Honeymoon.
  • Daniel Sargent to lead sessions with fitness
    based activities for 1 hour.
  • Danny Elmer to support fitness coach and conclude
    sessions with 30-40mins of rugby related activity.

  • In-Season
  • Training will take place every Tuesday and
    Thursday. 7.30pm start.
  • All Senior players will be coached by Tom Webb on
    Tuesday evening. Tuesday sessions will be fully
    inclusive for all abilities.
  • On occasions, the colts will join the seniors on
    Tuesday night sessions (Subject to discussion
    with Gary Watts, Colts Coach).
  • Thursday Evenings Respective squad training.
    Team selection will be announced after warm up
    has been completed.
  • We will be looking to utilitse indoor facilities
    from Mid November to Mid February. Currently in
    discussions with respective organisations who
    will be able to provide appropriate indoor
    facilities.
  • Christmas Last League game is on 19th December
    2009.
  • Last training session before Christmas 17th
    December 2009.
  • Game on Saturday 2nd Jan 2010 Vs Eton Manor
    2s/Braintree 2s.
  • First training session of the New Year Tuesday
    5th Jan 2010.

  • Selection/Liaison Procedure
  • Consistent attendance at training will determine
    selection at 1st XV level.
  • Tom Webb and Lee Garwood will be your first point
    of contact regards 1st Xv matters.
  • You will receive at Text from Tom Webb on each
    Monday asking you to confirm your attendance at
    training for the week and injury status.
  • Tom Webb, Lee Garwood, Gary Watts will form the
    senior selection committee.
  • Team selection will be confirmed after the warm
    up during Thursday evening training. A text will
    be sent to you Friday morning confirming match
    details and selection for the 1st XV.
  • When you are texted regards availability, it is
    essential that you respond as soon as possible so
    that plans for the week can be made
    (Monday/Friday Afternoon/Evening).
  • If your are 18 years of age or 40 years of age,
    training on a consistent basis, performing to a
    high standard and proving that you are good
    enough to represent Upper Clapton RFC at 1st XV
    level.YOU WILL BE SELECTED.
  • Club Coach is responsible for all selectorial
    decisions regarding the Senior sides of Upper
    Clapton. I will be your first port of call
    should you wish to discuss any selection decision
    that has been made.

  • Pre Match arrangements
  • You will be provided a meet time for home and
    away games.
  • We will always meet 1 hour and 45mins before kick
    off.
  • Players will be expected to take responsibility
    for their travel arrangements for away games and
    confirm with Tom Webb and Lee Garwood.
  • Example Home game, 3pm Kick off.
  • 1.15pm meet at UCFC.
  • 1.20pm Physio available for strapping. Players
    have 45mins to get strapped, changed and prepared
    for the game.
  • 2.05 Physio to finish strapping and prepare for
    pitch side duties
  • 2.10pm Team Briefing.
  • 2.20pm Team Warm up commences.
  • 2.30pm Backs/Forwards separate for unit skills.
  • 2.40pm Team play.
  • 2.50pm Contact practice.
  • 2.56pm Jog into changing rooms.
  • 2.58pm Match Shirts on.
  • 3.00pm Game Kicks off.

    on year 1.

  • Membership/Match Fees
  • All player subscriptions should be collected by
    the team captain/manager and should sent to the
    Club Treasurer with their registration form
  • The senior player subscription for season
    2009/2010 is 50.00 per person before 31st
    October and 60.00 thereafter.
  • Match fee costs, Colts and Student membership is
    currently under review. A proposal has been
    provided to the club committee and will be
    ratified in the coming weeks.

  • Physiotherapy treatment for first team squad is
    not free and will be dealt with as an expense
    item and will be reimbursed based on criteria set
    out by Playing and Coaching Committee.
  • You must be a member to receive treatment by the
    club appointed physio.
  • You will be charged for your treatment and will
    be your responsibility to make the expense claim
    for the treatment.
  • You will only be reimbursed for your treatment if
    you are member.
  • You will be advised about treatment night and
    procedures in due course.

  • The main Club is known as Upper Clapton Football
    Club (UCFC).
  • All senior player shall be required to complete a
    registration form for membership to Upper Clapton
    Football Club.
  • All senior, youth and mini team coaches,
    assistants, team managers and volunteers are
    encouraged to attend coaching, referees and first
    aid courses. Please check with the Youth
    Chairman, General Secretary or Treasurer before
    any bookings are made.
  • All coaches, assistants, team managers and
    volunteers who deal with or are in contact with
    the junior and youth players must be CRB checked
    and registered on the Rugby First website before
    they can fulfil their job role and
    responsibilities.
