Goal of 2007 Project

• Partner with fire departments from two major
  cities to identify and define causes of fire
  deaths and injuries among high-risk populations
  and the unique challenged associated with
  reducing them.
• Work with leadership within the departments to
  develop strategies to address the challenges.

• Interview fire department personnel and community
  leaders in two major cities (Louisville/Milwaukee)
  
• Interview leaders of CDC-funded smoke alarm
  programs
• Conduct literature review to complement on the
  ground information
