  • University of Santiago de Compostela is one of
    the oldest in Spain and in Europe (from 1495). It
    is a public institution with 45,000 students and
    2,000 teachers/researchers in 24
    Faculties/Schools focused to Classical Sciences
    and Humanities. Faculty of Mathematics (created
    in 1958) has 900 students and 80
    teachers/researches. http//www.usc.es.
  • Institute of Mathematics was stablished in 1996
    by members of the Faculty of Mathematics. Current
    personnel 70 researchers. Scientific Committee
    10 members. Their activity is concentrated in
    training and research on applied and pure
    mathematics as a tool to solve technical,
    organizational and economical problems. Research
    groups Applied Mathematics, Statistics and
    Operational Research, Pure Mathematics.
