  • Electronic Verification of Vital Events
  • One of the 25 E-government/e-vital initiatives
  • http//www.egov.gov
  • Part of the Presidents Management Agenda and the
    OMB Quicksilver E-Gov initiatives
  • Started as partnership between SSA NAPHSIS
  • Remote message-based queries for birth and death
    records
  • Authorized users have a single interface to
    generate a query for a verification or
    certification to any participating state
    throughout the country

2000 NAPHSIS recommends EVVE approach (match/no
match) Agrees to third party fair price

Jun 2001 SSA releases RFQ for an Online Access to
