Jacob Webber
  • Jacob Webber, driver of the 83w, is a sixteen
year old home-schooled sophomore from Corydon,
Indiana. Driving has been something Jacob picked
up on at a very young age. Starting with a big
foot truck he couldnt even reach the peddles on,
his dad, Michael Webber, would use a broom to
make it go. He then advanced to a go-cart when
he was four. That was all it took for his
interests to be sparked for anything that had a
motor. Driving, whether it was the lawn mower,
or his three wheeler, was all he wanted to do.
  • Jacobs father had a lot to do with his love of
NASCAR. There wasnt a Sunday we missed watching
Dale Earnhardt race. They spent a lot of time
together always working on something. Jacob
enjoys taking things apart just to see how it
works or as he would say, Make it go faster.
To this day Jacob has a natural ability to fix
    most anything.
  • While attending Harrison Hills Baptist Church in
Lanesville, Indiana, our family met a gentleman
named Dan Beasley. Being a race fan and a former
modified driver himself our family began talking
a lot to Dan about Jacob possibly racing a
modified. Before we knew it, Dan had found a car
for sale. By May of 2005 it was in our shop. It
would be July of that same year before it would
be ready to race. Jacobs first race was on July
19th of that same year in Salem, Indiana at
    Thunder Valley Raceway.
  • The weekends are what Jacob looks forward to most
of all. Rain has not been a welcome sight
especially when its a Friday or a Saturday. On
August 7, 2006 Jacob turned sixteen which made
him eligible to race at all UMP (United
    MidwesternPromoters) tracks. His race schedule
will be very full in 2007. During Jacobs down
time he uses his PS 2 games to enhance his
driving skills. Racing at the NASCAR level is
his ultimate goal for his future.

The Webbers
  • Racing has been a dream our family has talked
about for MANY years. Mike Webber, current Owner
and Crew Chief started out building a car back in
1995. The dream quickly came to a stop when he
was hit head on by a drunk driver in June of the
same year. Injuries sustained from that crash
changed everything as you can imagine. He then
sold the car and thought racing was something
this family would never have a chance to be a
part of. Since then, our son Jacob Webber has
grown up with a desire to race.
  • Jacob started his racing career in July of the
2005 just a week before he turned 15 driving a
Modified at Thunder Valley Raceway in Salem,
Indiana. Before entering the Modified Division,
Jacob had no experience in racing at all.
Growing un in the country the only thing he drove
fast was his 3-wheeler and his PS2 games. Jacob
proved from only seven races in the 2005-racing
season that he has the ability to run with
seasoned drivers. He earned ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
    and finished 9th in points.
  • This 2006-racing season we have added to our
    schedule Twin Cities Raceway, Bloomington
Speedway, and Brownstown Speedway, along with
Thunder Valley Raceway. On August 7, 2006 Jacob
turned sixteen making him eligible to race at all
UMP (United Midwestern Promoters) tracks in
Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
  • Webber Racing doesnt only consist of Mike and
Jacob but also includes Paige (age 12) and
myself, Tracy Webber. We are a Christian,
home-schooled that enjoys being together, which
is a GOOD thing. Not all families involved in
racing have the support of the entire family, but
the Webbers is each a vital part of this race
    team.
  • Our family has been a NASCAR fan from the
beginning. We are Dale Earnhardt fans even after
his death and currently are Michael Waltrip, Tony
Stewart, Dale Jr., and Truex Jr. fans. We chose
the number 83 using Jrs 8 and Dales 3. Our
ultimate goal is to see Jacobs dream of
advancing to NASCAR become a reality. Who knows,
maybe youll see Jacob Webber racing along side
    the best in NASCAR someday.
  • In Christ, The Webbers
