  • Incentive for Top Needs Focus
  • Initial survey showed that 5 areas were most
    important to our chapters
  • This group decided the best source of
information in these areas were chapters with
experience and success in dealing with these
    opportunities
  • Survey tool designed and distributed to over 450
    recipients
  • Information was collected, reduced and
redistributed to our chapters for adaptation
  • Information and ideas can be tailored for each
    chapters individual needs
  • Result is a nationwide brainstorm of ideas tried
and yet to be tried focusing on these 5 important
    areas

  • Greg Petrus wrote up initial survey to get ideas
that have been tried successfully and get ideas
    yet to be tried
  • Randall Barnes and HQ staff design a medium to
survey 450 officers and Council members
  • Randall, Greg and remaining team members iterate
    on survey content and medium
  • Team dives fearlessly into a great sea of
unknowns to initiate the ideas gathering process

6
  • Lessons Learned and Procedure
  • Survey tool discovered to have a previously
unknown time limit imposed by an overriding time
out of the internet after about 20 minutes
  • Randall and Greg send out a second Word
friendly survey and collect results manually as
well as through the automated survey tool
  • Randall takes on the first task of initial
processing of results, sifting and grouping
  • Greg takes on the task of initial editing and
    further sifting and overall evaluations
  • Process is fairly labor intensive but well worth
    the effort

7

chapters, chapter sizes and areas of the country
  • The information is boiled down, edited and
