Residential Summer School 2006

  • 2 night/3 day summer school for 15 young people
    aged 15-17, selected by Childrens Dept

    After (CLA) and Care leavers Aspirations to go on
    to further and Higher Education.

Success of Partnership
  • Sign up to the compact agreement.
  • Links to Aimhigher resulting in a regional
    conference and summer school pilot.
  • Increase in the number of Care Leavers going to
    university ( two this year going to Winchester).

  • Involving Parents, Carers, Social Care Staff has
    raised their awareness of what can be achieved by
    educational attainment.
  • This has inspired them to increase the motivation
    of the young people they are working with.
  • 2 YPS on BTEC Performing Arts courses one Young
    person who previously had been out of school is
    on target for A in GCSE Drama.
