    operate a car versus 400 for a bicycle

  • Obesity in children is increasing at an
  • alarming rate. It is the second leading
  • cause of death in adults, after tobacco
  • use.
  • Just three (3) hours of biking per week can
    reduce the risk of heart disease by 50
  • Walking bicycling are not just good for the
    body they are also good for the mind, thus
    reducing stress levels

  • Walking bicycling get you where you
  • need to go without burning fossil fuels
  • and emitting pollutants
  • If cycling trips were increased by just 0.5 the
    US could save 462 gallons of gas a year
  • Transportation accounts for more than 25 of the
    worlds energy use and motor vehicles account for
    nearly 80 of that
