Todays challenges - security

• September 11th 2001 and August 10th 2006 changed
  security at our airports
• New restrictions on hand luggage including sharp
  items and liquids
• Investing for good customer service
• 2 million additional investment in security
• - 40 new security staff
• - 4 new x-ray machines
• - new security search area
• 95 of passengers pass through security in less
  than 5 minutes

• Effective policing of the airport
• BAA pays over 2.4 million a year towards the
  policing of Edinburgh Airport
