• plan your search in advance

• start your search simply and then refine it

A few suggestions

• Leave yourself plenty of time not all libraries
  are as easy to use as ours and you may find you
  need material which is not easy to obtain
• The study skills collection on the 1st floor has
  books with lots of helpful advice about doing
  research projects
• Keep full details of everything that you read
• You can do a lot of research from off-campus if
  you know how to use databases, ejournals and
  ATHENS passwords
