  • The motto of Love in the Sky is to promote
    local and international interdisciplinary
    artistic talent and to create synergies and
    network opportunities for both artists and
    sponsors of the arts in the most iconic and
    privileged buildings in world.

  • Love in the Sky - London is the first part of
    this project, which intends to bring innovative
    art/fashion/design/music concepts into iconic
    buildings around the world under the common theme
    of Love. In this particular occasion the chosen
    city is London, the chosen building is Fosters
    Swiss Re building the Gherkin.

The Art
  • Love in the Sky is a creation of award-winning
    composer and sound artist Toni Castells, who will
    perform his new ground-breaking interactive
    performance in this opening event. Luxury
    lingerie designer Nichole de Carle and artist
    Baccara Smart will also showcase their work at
    the event, always under the underlying theme of
    the night, LOVE.
  • The artists involved in Love in the Sky will
    undertake a series of workshops in the run up to
    the event, workshops lead by leading figures in
    the art/music/fashion worlds in which their
    showcase ideas will be nurtured, discussed and
    developed as a group, exploring LOVE as a
    creative energy and as the object of creative
    activity.

The Music
  • Toni Castells is a one-time classical musician
    based in London whos debut studio album,
    Unharmed, reached the iTunes Top 20 charts in
    November 2007. A successful worldwide release
    followed and now Toni is selling music to over 15
    different countries establishing and ever growing
    world-wide fanbase.
  • Tonis bespoke live performance are contemporary
    operas in celebration of LOVE where music, poetry
    and visuals intertwine to creat a unique and
    moving live experience. Influenced by artists
    such as Björk, Sigur Rós, Kraftwerk and Radiohead
    amongst others, Toni merges a string quartet and
    a soprano with electric guitars and distorted
    beats, while angelical voices hover on top of the
    dense and captivating sonic and visual landscape.

The Fashion
  • The Luxury brand Nichole de Carle is continuously
    featured on Fashion TV. Together Nichole de Carle
    and FTV have staged impressive catwalk shows at
    the Cannes Film Festival and the Miami Beach Polo
    World Cup, to mention a few. The brand has also
    made a presence in Italy showing alongside labels
    such as Just Cavalli and La Perla.
  • In 2008 Nichole de Carle hand crafted luxury
    lingerie will be available in New York, Paris,
    Dubai, Beijing, Melbourne, Tokyo, Moscow and of
    course London.
  • Nichole de Carle is endorsed by the Ethical
    Fashion Forum and Global Cool. Nichole also works
    with the charity Trade Plus Aid.

The Art
  • Baccara Smart is the heiress to one of the most
    respected circus families in the world, the smart
    family. Billy Smarts Circus, established in
    1946, became one of the most successful circus in
    the world.
  • Baccara is an artist whos art is
    multimedia-based including painting, photography
    and performance, in which she portrays her
    personal interpretation of her family history
    with the circus.
  • Baccara regularly exhibits in art galleries in
    London and the US and has won several awards. Her
    film Be a Clown, Make Em Laugh was nominated
    for the Riverun Film Festival in the US in 2007.

Target Audience
  • The target audience for the event is, on the one
    hand, high-profile individuals from the banking,
    financial and corporate sectors. On the other
    hand the event will bring together some of the
    leading figures from the contemporary
    music/art/fashion world.
  • Love in the Sky wants to act as a catalyst that
    brings together this hand-picked selected
    audience under the same roof, the unique glass
    canopy of the Gherkin in this first event, with
    the ultimate goal to set the perfect scenario for
    the creation of unique networks and synergies
    between the art and the corporate worlds.

Lottery Fund and the Catalan Institute for the
Cultural Industries.

    franchise with the concept being developed in
