Data Challenge 4 (DC4) and Photo-z WG

• DESDM Portal testing
• Huan Lin and Francisco Castander current
  volunteers anyone else?
• DC4 Photo-z WG analysis plans
• Science images 150 deg2 x 5 filters x (6-15)
  tilings 2600 images 2.6 TB
• Number of tilings 8 each in g,r, 15 each in i,z,
  and 6 in Y
• Access (coadd) catalog data via DESDM portal
• Compare/optimize photo-z codes from interested
  groups
• Finally test neural network photo-z module (from
  DC1)?
• Would need re-training and probably also updating
  to fit into current processing framework

Survey Strategy Options and Photo-z WG

• Photo-z WG tasked with providing photo-z accuracy
  estimates for different survey strategy options
• Need galaxy catalog simulations for different
  options
• Then need photo-z computations for those
  simulations

Training Set Completeness

• Assess completeness of faint training sets like
  VVDS and DEEP2
• Galaxy angular cross correlation as handle on
  redshift distributions
• Possibilities for obtaining more complete
  training set samples using telescope resources
  within DES collaboration
