    counter except liquid or gel-caps.
  • Requirements for purchaser.

  • Time Commitment-Before
  • Write in logbook.
  • Would have to review logbook to see if over
    purchases.
  • Requirement to keep two years.
  • Time spent with law enforcement when comes in to
    inspect written logbook.
  • Time to copy information.

  • Electronic input-faster.
  • No longer need to review written logbook to see
    if individual over limit.
  • Requirement to keep written logbook two years,
    now only keep signature log two years (example in
    binder).
  • Law enforcement will need to spend little if any
    time in pharmacy and little if any copying.

    patients that come into the pharmacy for their

    determine if purchaser is over the limit.

    intern enters the information in electronically
    and notifies you if the purchaser is over the
    limit. Benefit to a patient that you know so
    that you can tell them that another family member
    needs to come in and make the purchase.

Results
  • Curtail purchasers from going pharmacy to
    pharmacy to obtain these products (both in-state
    and out-of-state individuals)
  • Curtail meth labs.
  • Pharmacies beginning to carry less, if any, of
    these products. Others available.
  • Still able to purchase liquids and gel-caps from
    non-pharmacy in Kentucky, only requirement is
    written logbook and behind the counter.
