1
Welcome to the OKM Course Selection Meeting
Grade 8 Students Going into Grade 9
2
Course Selection Timeline
  • A parents signature is required on course
selection forms, which must be returned to the
counseling center on or before Monday, February
25th in order to complete the course selection
    process.

3
Timeline continued
  • Course descriptions and information can be found
    on our website http//www.okm.sd23.bc.ca
  • Students should receive timetables for the
    2008/2009 school year in June.
  • Should a timetable change be necessary, students
will receive instructions and guidelines for that
process when they receive their timetables.

4
Why is accurate course selection so important?
  • The master timetable is developed by determining
how many students have selected each course, then
creating enough classes in each subject area to
    meet those needs.
  • If students decide to change courses, there may
not be room for them in another course or it may
    not fit into their timetables.
