Goals - Clinicians Health Channel

• to service the needs of clinicians -
  doctors, nurses and allied health professionals
  - in Victorian public hospitals and DHS agencies
  by providing high quality information relevant to
  Australian clinical practice

• National Health Development Fund
• Phase 1 - March 2000, 6 months
• limited access in 35 Acute Hospitals
• Phase 2 - 18 months
• wider take up in acute health sector
• Phase 3 - 18 months
• extension to community sector

• 1. Equity of access
• You take all this stuff for granted in a large
  teaching hospital... but then when you dont have
  access in a remote area (not just in the physical
  sense) this sort of resource is invaluable

  available wherever and whenever required
• e-books dont walk!

• I arrived for work at 2am Sunday morning and
  found a clinical question on my desk. I got onto
  the Clinicians Health Channel and had answers
  ready for Monday mornings clinical staff
  meeting
