Satellite Calibration Equations
For a given satellite, the post-launch
calibration equation is L (Dg1 d Dg2 d
go) (C Co) Where L is the normalized radiance,
go is the initial gain, Dg1 and Dg2 are the 1st
and 2nd order polynomial change in the trend, d
is the day since launch, and Co is the space
count, and C is the 8 or 10-bit count (for GMS
use squared count). A solar constant (SC) of
526.9 W/m2/mm/sr is used unless otherwise noted.

Summary
  • McIDAS plays a critical role in our research
  • McIDAS a powerful software, however
  • Complexity intimidates novice users
  • Software not available to everyone
  • Produce Web interfaces wrapped around McIDAS
    functions
  • Java applets scripts
  • Communication issues limit capability
  • VISST Cloud Products
  • Web www-angler.larc.nasa.gov
  • ADDE DATALOC ADD VISST OMEGA.LARC.NASA.GOV
