(Bluetooth) Abstract IEEE 802.15.1
pitch Purpose The following IEEE ComSoc Boston
Chapter talk will provide the meeting
participants with a short update on the emerging
industry of Wireless Personal Area Network
technologies e.g., Bluetooth(TM) Special Interest
Group, HomeRF(TM), etc. and the parallel
standards-making efforts that are deriving or
creating the standards inside the IEEE.
Wireless Personal Area Networks will proliferate
early in the millennium and the IEEE P802.15
Working Group for Wireless Personal Area Networks
(WPAN's) will provide the leadership in the IEEE
802 Standards Committees to establish open
standards for these WPAN's. Notice This
document has been prepared to assist the IEEE
802.15. It is offered as a basis for discussion
and is not binding on the contributing
individual(s) or organization(s). The material in
this document is subject to change in form and

Next Steps
  • IEEE
  • Complete Letter Ballot 3 for P802.15.1 Draft
0.7.2 and forward comments to BSIG
  • Bluetooth
  • Receive 1.0 Specification errata from BSIG/The
    Open Group e.g., v1.1 source
  • TROFF, HTML, and PDF
  • Is there a baseline w/ change bar in TROFF from
    v1.0B to v1.1?
  • IEEE
  • Produce P802.15.1 Draft 0.8 for recirculation WG
    Letter Ballot and resolve.
  • Discuss if we should publish unapproved P802.15.1
Draft 0.8 via IEEE Standards Association, 802
    Plus
  • Produce P802.15.1 Draft 1.0
