Purpose

• To sample lakes from the Clark State Forest and
  test for E. Coli
• To test the samples for content of the water
• See if there is any correlation between water
  content and number of colonies grown

Observations

• No apparent correlation between E. Coli growth
  and dissolved O2
• No correlation between E. Coli growth and
  phosphate content
• No correlation between pH and E. Coli growth

• Seems to be a correlation between E. Coli growth
  and CaCO3 content
• The higher content Bowen lake grew the most
• The lowest content Banet Pond grew the least
• Also seemed to be a correlation between CO2
  content and E. Coli growth
• The higher the content the more the growth

Conclusion

• The oldest lake grew the most E. Coli
• E. Coli growth does not depend upon dissolved
  oxygen, pH, or phosphate content in the lakes.
• Growth most dependent upon calcium carbonate
  content and the carbon dioxide content
