Title: The MargerisonMcCann

1
The Margerison-McCann Team Management Profile
2
Developed for managersby managers
What is the Team Management Profile?
A 5,000 word full-colour report based on your
responses to an online or paper questionnaire. It
explains how your range of preferences across
four key areas affects your own unique approach
to your job, your team and the way you manage and
work with others.
The Team Management Wheel, the simple but
powerful model which forms the basis of the
report, quickly identifies critical success
factors at work helping you to spot potential
development needs and strengths for both you and
your team.
The Profile helps ensure the course doesnt take
place in an ivory tower that were constantly
thinking about how this impacts on what happens
during a working week. Neslyn Watson-Druée,
Beacon Organisational Development Ltd

Fully-Validated
Is it a fully-validated assessment tool?
Reviewed, validated and registered by the British
Psychological Society, the Team Management
Profile has been established for over 20 years.
Fully-validated in many international languages,
with more in development, it is a leading and
globally-recognised psychometric tool. Our
research institute and worldwide database ensures
that our comparative data can be customised by
gender, industry, profession, country or regional
area, with over 150,000 results.
The Team Management Profile Questionnaire has
high face validity with managers, the narrative
profile is easy to read and understand, and the
information and feedback guidance material is
excellent. British Psychological Society

Wide-ranging applications
How is it being used?
Powerful, but flexible, the Profile can be used
alongside existing development tools or can form
the basis for organisation-wide programmes. It
is used by leading organisations worldwide to
develop managers, leaders and teams, manage
change, value diversity and retain talent in the
public and private sectors.
Excellent tool, I think it will be a very good
tool for one-to-one coaching for development and
careers and also team days. Katie Golden, IPC
Media Excellent. Really useful. Great potential
for many applications. Sally Bernham, University
of Northampton It is a tool which I feel I
could use with all of our current clients and I
feel it will increase our offering to our client
base. TMSDI Network Member, Red Sky Learning

Face valid and easy-to-share
Why should I use it?
Written in simple, business English, the Profile
report is instantly memorable and its impactful
models and high quality presentation engage
people. It offers a common language and a basis
for understanding working styles, overcoming
barriers and performing more effectively leading
to immediate results and providing a framework
for the future .
Some instruments blind you with science. By
contrast, the Team Management Profile reports are
written in ordinary business language its face
valid people see its relevance the dimensions
are easy to explain John Thacker, Rolls-Royce
Management Development Programmes It gives
people a common language to talk about
difficulties that might arise. Anthony Nally,
Manchester Heart Centre
6
Ongoing relevance
Why should I use it?
The Profile can be used over and again, to bring
new teams together and clarify organisational
goals, to identify performance strengths and
weaknesses in long-standing teams, for individual
career development and as a tool for managing
change.
The Team Management Profile provides a structure
to see what roles teams possess and to manage the
transition and start-up of successful
groupings. Gill Greenwood, Games Workshop It
gives you a language that you can use long after
youve filled it inand a model which continues
to help in new situations. Steve Botham, Caret
7
Results-oriented
Why should I use it?
The Profile encourages ownership and action and
is solutions-oriented. Once individual work
preferences and team roles are identified, high
performance issues become clear. It can also be
used as a group tool for goal-setting, planning
and review.
Each report contains linking guidelines and
models, colour graphics, narrative analysis and
summaries to help individuals and teams to move
forward.
Its useful which means theres no so what?
It leads to action. Steve Botham, Caret Many
of these sorts of instruments are done to
people who take a passive role. The Team
Management Profile encourages ownership, action
and thinking. Thats powerful Professor Larry
Phillips, London School of Economics

Supported by our full suite of tools
What are the origins of the Profile?
The Team Management Profile is the key instrument
within the Margerison-McCann Team Management
Systems suite of single and multi-rater tools
developed by Dr Dick McCann and Dr Charles
Margerison.
The Profiles share a common conceptual framework
and can be used singly, in combination or with
other tools to illuminate a wide range of
situations and provide perspectives on individual
performance and high-energy teamworking.
Each tool is supported by a powerful, researched,
visual model and simple language to bring it to
life.
I like the reporting for all the profiles,
especially the positive language and
