AIMBE MissionThe American Institute
for Medical and Biological Engineering was
founded for the following purposes
  • To establish a clear and comprehensive identity
    for the field of medical and biological
    engineering
  • To promote public awareness of medical and
    biological engineering
  • To establish liaisons with government agencies
    and other professional groups
  • To improve intersociety relations and cooperation
    within the field of medical and biological
    engineering
  • To serve and promote the national interest in
    science, engineering and education
  • To recognize individual and group achievements
    and contributions to the field of medical and
    biological engineering

    enhance visibility and understanding of AIMBE

  • Achieved positive cash flow for fiscal year which
    included several large donations
  • Achieved commitments from individuals of nearly
    half the 1M target of ongoing annuity campaign
  • Initiated search for new staff member in
    Executive Office focusing on Society, Industry
    Council initiatives
  • Began plans for funded consensus conference run
    by Council of Societies targeting current issues
    in medical and biological engineering
