What is Rugby?
  • Rugby is a game that is played in over 120
    countries throughout the world.
  • It is a game with a rich history and tradition.
  • The games attraction is in its close teamwork,
physical combat, elusive running, ball handling
    and kicking skills.
  • It is an exhilarating physical team challenge for
all physical sizes and both sexes..
  • It combines a great spectator game with ethical
    behaviour and fair play.
  • It provides a unique positive relationship
    between players and supporters.
  • It is one of the fastest growing and third
biggest team sport in the world.

The SPIRIT of Rugby !
  • The Spirit of Rugby describes
  • the love of the game with its traditions of
    sportsmanship and camaraderie.
  • the high standards of discipline and behaviour on
    the field.

4
Object of the Game.
  • The object of the game is that two teams of
fifteen players each, should score as many points
as possible by carrying, passing, kicking and
grounding the ball. The team scoring the greater
number of points being the winner of the match.
  • It is classified as an 'end zone invasion game'.
The aim of each team is to gain possession of the
ball, take it into opposition territory and to
place it in the in-goal area (end zone).
  • Rugby is a game of continuous flow, there is
constant competition for the ball at the
breakdown. These are called Rucks and Mauls.
  • Players and spectators love the combination of
running, passing, kicking and physical combat.

Sponsorship
  • As the results show, the Cyprus Rugby Union side
is immensely successful yet they have no sponsor.
Does your company want to be part of this
    success?
  • The players representing Cyprus had to pay their
own air fares to all international matches.
  • The potential for rugby tourism is enormous. We
are turning away rugby teams tour requests from
Premiership UK teams because we have no home
    rugby ground.
  • We are looking for sponsors and a dedicated home
    ground.
  • Can your company help?
