• Sea Anemones are known for being the most
  beautiful of all marine animals.
• They live in all oceans.

Sea Anemones Features

• These creatures have tentacles that look like
  petals of some types of flowers.
• They are found in a variety of different colors.
• Their body is soft and cylinder-shaped.
• They may be thick and short or long and slender.

Where are they found?

• They can be found from the coast lines on rocky
  shores to very great depths of the ocean.

• They can be found in ocean water up to depths of
  33,000 feet.
• Some anemones live in brackish water.

Defense

• These animals, when disturbed, can fold
  themselves inside out (they look like a laundry
  bag closed).

• They can sting either their prey or anything else
  bothering them with their nematocysts, stinging
  cells.

• Some anemones eat only microorganisms
• They are eaten by sea slugs, certain starfishes,
  eels, flounders, and codfish.

A Few More Things To Know

• They have no skeleton, but they may secrete a
  horny covering.
• Sperm and eggs are usually discharged into the
  water, where fertilization can and usually takes
  place.
• There are over 1000 species and vary in size.
