We are boys and girls of IV V A/ B class. We
are going to introduce our Easter
traditions Happy Easter in Italian language is
Buona Pasqua

Italian Easter symbols are eggs chick hen lamb co
lomba cake(dove) And yours? We know about Easter
rabbit! Have you got other simbols?

Italians do not
decorate hard boiled eggs
but the biggest Easter
display in bars, pastry,
shops, supermarkets,
are choccolate eggs. All except the tiniest
eggs contain a surprise.

A holiday meal in Italy would not
be complete without a
traditional dessert the Colomba
cake, shaped is on of the
most recognizable of Easter,
the dove, the syimbol of peace

Easter dinner Easter dinner usually starts with
pasta (ravioli of lasagne) or minestra,
followed with bay lamb, baby potatoes and
salad. Artchokes are one of the classic elements
of an Easter meal.

Easter Monday
On Easter Monday,
also called Pasquetta,
people go out into
the country, to enjoy
spring and have a picnic.

Easter celebrates the crucifixion and
Ressurection of Jesus Christ. We are
catholic. Holy week starts with Palm Sunday. On
Palm Sunday we go the church to celebrate arrival
of Jesus in Jerusalem. People exchange palm
branches.

"Quaresima time"
Its the time before Easter. It begins on
Mercoledì delle Ceneri (Shrove
Wednesday). Quaresima (Lent) is a time of
abstinence of giving things up. We dont eat meal
on each Quaresima friday. We eat fish, cheese
and vegetables.

Holy Friday
In this day we remember the crucifixion and death
of Jesus Christ. We have Procession ( Holy
parade) in the street of our villages. There are
many people who pray and follow the dead Christ
and Vergin Mother statues.

In some villages there are holy performance who
want remember the Jesus Christ Passion

"Holy Saturday"
We go to the church in the night for remember
the Resurrection of Jesus. During this
celebration are blessed the fire and the water,
new life symbol.

Easter Sunday
On Easter Sunday we go to the church for the
Saint Mass of Resurrection. A lot of people go
to the church on this day. We have lunch with our
parents and relatives. We stay at home for that.

Easter holiday
We dont go to school on Easter time. Our Easter
holiday start on Thursday 13th April. We come
back to school on wednesday 19th. When are your
Easter holiday?
