• Ann Cameron was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin in
  1943 in the middle of an October blizzard
• She made up games with her friends when she was
  little
• She grew up on 40 acres of land outside her town
• Ann loved exploring nature.

Adult Life

• She was lucky enough to study with the famous
  poet Robert Lowell at Harvard
• She earned only 85 a week working in New York in
  1966
• She now lives in Panajachel, Guatemala.
• Ann wishes Guatemalan children have the same
  opportunities as she had

Writing Life

• She wrote Seed in 1974.
• She says that writing is better than sitting at
  home.
• She wrote a book inspired by Julio Garcia called
• Birthday Present.
• She wrote Birthday Present in a famous
  Restaurant, on the patio.
