What is he?
  • Astronomer and mathematician, whose synthesis of
    the geocentric theory that the earth is the
    center of the universe.He is also remembered for
    his contributions of mathematics, optics, and
    geography.

What did he invent?
  • Ptolemy did not invent the geocentric system of
    the solar system. He lived during the second
    century AD. His book the Almagest was the guide
    for astronomy for about 1200 years.
