Do you see the piece of wood that is stuck within
the trunk of this palm tree? Powerful winds
during Hurricane Andrew drove it in there.

Credit NOAA for this safety poster ! Floods, on
average, kill more than 100 people and are
responsible for 4.6 billion in damage in the
United States each year. More than half of those
deaths occur in vehicles overtaken by
floodwaters. This is a life saving campaign by
NOAA to get us to remember to not drive through
flood waters, but turn around and don't drown.
