13Center Supports Tropical Biology Field Experiences
Students in tropical biology can extend their
classroom experiences into the field through a
three week study trip to Costa Rica. The trip
focuses on a comparison of ecosystems using field
stations of the Organization for Tropical Studies

- school groups from public, private and home
schools - youth groups such as scouts and church groups
- Youth oriented activities including a Nature Day
Camp and family oriented weekend programming

19The Visitors Center is used as an indoor classroom

includes a classroom and laboratory and workshop
space. Weather data have been monitored here for
over ten years. Recently the building has been
used almost daily for Mount Union College classes

counselors for Nature Day Camp
