Aurelian Walls
Le mura di Aurelius sono molto grande!
  • The Aurelian walls enclose the seven hills of
    Rome. They were 19 km long, had 18 walls, and
    were defended by 381 towers. The walls were built
    between 272 and 279 to protect from the Germans,
    who were later defeated by the emperor Aurelius.

Lake Garda
  • Lake Garda is also known as Lake Benaco,
    and is the largest lake in Italy. It has a
    surface area of 370 sq. km and a perimeter of 162
    km. Lake Garda is located in a wide valley
    between Lombardy, the Veneto and Trentino-Alto
    Adige. The beautiful scenery, vegetation, and
    mild climate all make Garda an excellent tourist
    and health center.

Venice
  • When you step into Venice, you step into
    another world. This unique city has many
    beautiful features, from its many criss-crossing
    bridges and canals to its yearly Carnival. It was
    built around 450 A.D. on over 100 islands in a
    lagoon 4 km from terra firma and 2 km from the
    Adriatic Sea. Venice is a treasure of art and
    architecture, and is filled with many piazzas and
    islands to visit. Come visit the City of light!

Palermo
  • Palermo is the largest and most important
    city in Sicily. It lies between the Bay of
    Palermo on the Tyrrhenian Sea and the mountains
    that border the Conca dOro. Come visit Palermos
    main church, the Cathedral dellAssunta, which
    was built during the Norman period. Or, go see
    the Regional Archaeological Museum, which is
    housed in an old monastery.

Milan
  • Milan is the most important city of Northern
    Italy. It is a financial and economic capital ,
    and is the second most populous city in Italy
    with a population of 1,371,000 inhabitants. It is
    also a major political and cultural center, with
    many churches and galleries to see.

Sforzesco Castle
Castello Sforzesco e molto grande e bello!
  • This castle was Milans most important
    secular Renaissance building. Building began in
    1450, and Francesco Sforza wanted it to be his
    royal domain. It was enlarged and decorated under
    Galeazzo Maria Sforza and Ludovico The Moor.
    Later fallen into abandon, it was restored by
    Luca Beltrami. Behind the castle extends a
    beautiful English park.

Ponte Vecchio
Ponte Vecchio e molto antico.
  • This is the oldest bridge in Florence. It
    was built in 1345, probably by Neri di
    Fioravante. It is the only bridge that wasnt
    destroyed during the Second World War. The bridge
    is formed by three arches resting on two pillars.
    Upon it are two rows of jewelry shops.

Piazza Bocca della Verità
  • This beautiful piazza with its garden
    dominates the Roman-style belltower of Santa
    Maria in Cosmedin, guardian of the "Bocca della
    Verità. This is a stone mask which, according to
    legend, bites the hands of liars. In this piazza
    are two Roman temples, the temple of Portuno and
    Ercole Vincitore. There is also a fountain from
    the eighteenth century there.

Burano and Murano
  • Burano and Murano are two islands of the lagoon.
    They can be reached by a ferry from Venice.
    Burano is known for its beautiful lace and small,
    colorful houses. Murano is known for its fine
    glassmaking.

Mausoleum of Augustus
  • This mausoleum is the burial place of
    emperor Augustus and his family. It was built in
    29 B.C. Inside are the ashes of Augustus and his
    wife Livia. There are also the ashes of his
    sister Ottavia, and of his nephews Caius and
    Lucius Caesar.
