In previous years
  • AAN was a project for English II students to
    research the geography, costumes, rituals and
    customs, foods, agriculture, natural and tourist
    attractions, flag, and map of a foreign country.

Students spent
  • countless hours and lots of money on ways to
    produce the best backdrops, food, costumes,
    friendship tokens, trip itineraries, and
    characters to represent their particular foreign
    country.

This year
  • students will have help in preparing many of
    the required products and some of the extras
    that will earn bonus points because they are
    beyond what is required.

In previous years
  • students had to get through the project with
    only about three weeks preparation time.

This year
  • we will begin the project now and prepare for
    the April performance throughout the school year.

Soon with the directions!Step ONE
  • Look around the room. See with whom you
    would like to work. You will be allowed to work
    with people from any of the four English II
    teachers classes (during this class period
    only). Formulate a group of 3-5 members! No
    more - No less.

NextStep TWO
  • After you have formulated your group, obtain
    a card from the teacher in charge of cards and
    write your group members names on the card.
    Realize that one of the group members has to be
    willing to become the ambassador from a foreign
    country, dress up, and speak before a large crowd.

Step THREE
  • Your group will draw three country names and
    choose ONE country from the three. After all
    groups have drawn, any group wishing to trade may
    come to Ms. Sauers room from 400 - 500 PM
    today or 730 800 AM on Thursday morning and
    trade their country for what is left.

AAN Dates
  • Dates have been prearranged by the English II
    teachers for every other Wednesday to work on
    this project.

You said we were going to get help?
  • Who? students from other classes.
  • What? will do the research and create certain
    products to sell to country groups. All
    English students can begin earning in class by
    being present, on time, and staying out of ISS.
  • When? beginning September 1, 2000.

Where? Why?
  • Ag, Home Economics, Career and Technology,
    History, Geography, Math, and other classes will
    discover countries chosen and then create recipe
    packages, service packages, and report packages
    to sell and they will be placed on a web page
    where students may go to bid for these products.

Earn Money?
  • For each day you are present in class and on
    time, you will earn 1.00.
  • At the end of each six weeks,
  • an A will earn you 5.00,
  • a B - 4.00
  • a C - 3.00
  • a D - 2.00
